With the avalanche of social networking sites available and the eagerness to join in on what could be the newest and next best thing, we offer you this advice: take due care and attention of managing your online profiles.
1. Sell yourself; this is after all online marketing for No1: yourself.
2. Keep it up to date; make the profile work for you and avoid unnecessary questions and contact resulting from out-of-date information.
3. Be cautious about what you reveal; not only to avoid fraud, but also ensure that your profile is appropriate for this social network audience.
4. Have an exit strategy; don’t just leave an old profile on line, take it down if you don’t want to hang out there any more.
Back in January this year, Guy Kawasaki blogged about giving his profile an extreme makeover on Linkedin and here is the article. You can apply the guidelines he was given for Linkedin across other social networking sites.
Guy also has given some good advice on how to use Linkedin so please read all about it here.

I work for Guy Kawasaki. Thanks for your comments about Guy and the link to his posting on LinkedIn!
